Stephen J M GoodburnChairman – Waco Africa

Stephen started with the Waco Group in 1990. He joined Gentyre, a listed subsidiary of Waco. He was promoted to Group Financial Director in 1997.

Stephen played a significant role in the management of Waco during the buyouts in 2000 and 2005. His extensive international experience was invaluable in managing this process.

In July 2011 Stephen took up the position of CEO of the Waco group. Stephen holds a B.Compt(Hons) degree.

Gregory SlabbertChief Financial Officer - Waco Africa

Gregory Slabbert started his career with Waco as the Accounting Manager of then subsidiary, Continental Tyres. This was followed by fulfilling the positions of Group Accountant and then Group Executive – both at Waco International.

Greg currently fulfills the position of Chief Financial Officer of Waco Africa, a position he has held since April 2004. Gregory holds a B Com (UPE) and B Compt Honours (Unisa) CA (SA).

Nthime Khoele Co-founder and Co-Managing Partner - Bopa Moruo

Nthime is co-founder and co-managing partner of Bopa Moruo, a private equity investment management firm.

Nthime was previously a Director of Brait Private Equity. He has also served as Group Treasurer and Head of Corporate Finance at South African Airways; Executive Director at Legend Capital and investment professional at Rand Merchant Bank.

Nthime holds a Business Science Honours (UCT) and an MBA (UCT). He also holds a Diploma in Company Law.

Michael Graham ElsChief Executive Officer – Waco Africa

Michael has a BSc (Quantity Surveying with Distinction) from UCT and commenced as CEO of Waco Africa (Pty) Ltd in July 2010. Michael’s working career began as a professional QS in Cape Town in the late 80’s.

The next 20 years saw Michael starting and running two mid-tier construction companies specialising in commercial construction and development, the second of which he ran until his appointment to Waco Africa.

Sibongile Phila BurnettDirector Of Strategic Initiatives - Sanitech

Cecilia is a Director Of Strategic Initiatives at Sanitech and has been with the company for 17 years. Prior to this (1998 – 2002) she worked for Steiner Hygiene, part of Bidvest, in the Accounting department at their Head Office in Aeroport.

Cecilia’s qualifications include MBA (Mancosa), Financial Accountant – IAC – Institute of Accounting and Commerce and Professional Membership (MIAC).

Nomthi joined the Ethos Value Add team in 2017. She provides expertise on commercial strategy execution and sales force effectiveness.

Nomthi previously worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company and in corporate finance at Deloitte.

Nomthi holds a BCom (Accounting) and Postgraduate Diploma (Accounting) from UCT. She is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.

Philisani NgcoboExecutive Director – Waco Africa

Philisani Ngcobo is the Executive Director: Strategic Initiatives / Origination and Client Coverage at Waco Africa. He is responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships and new business.

Philisani holds an MBA from Wales University in the UK, Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (UKZN), BA Social Sciences (UKZN)) and B Ed (UKZN). He has also completed an Executive Development Programme from Gibbs.

Boitumelo ThlabaneloCo-founder and Principal - Bopa Moruo

Tumi is co-founder and principal of Bopa Moruo, a private equity investment management firm.

Tumi previously served as an Investment Professional with Development Partners International, a London based pan-African private equity fund manager. Prior to that, he was a Director of Brait Private Equity.

Tumi holds a B Com (UCT) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting (UCT). He is a member of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
